Not a health food. Not a treat. Bread that goes stale, because nothing in it stops it.

Daily Bread is a sorghum sourdough: sorghum flour 53%, water, a starter, cold pressed sunflower oil, jaggery and pink salt. Quinoa Bread is quinoa and jowar, high fibre (6.5 g per 100 g). Each pack prints every ingredient, biggest share first, and both FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) licence numbers.

There are no preservatives, so it goes stale in a few days. Keep it in the fridge and eat it within 2 days of opening, or slice it and freeze it, then toast it straight from the freezer . Order before 6 pm and it reaches you the same day; at or after 6 pm, before 12 pm the next day.

Portrait of Nishant Jain

The founders

Surat, 2009

Nishant Jain was fourteen, in Surat, when he wanted a loaf small enough to fit in a tiffin without being folded in half, and walked into a bakery on the edge of the city to ask if he could watch. Exams crowded the idea out, and for seventeen years he kept reading the labels on bread, in every city. In 2026, four of us in four cities started Breadwinner: plain bread you can read in one breath.

The point was never the number on the label. It’s that you can read all of it.

Who answers for it. Our manufacturing partner in Mumbai makes the loaf. Pernickety Private Limited sells it and answers for it.
