What’s in our Daily Bread?

What goes in, by weight:

1. Sorghum Flour (Jowar), 53%: the only flour in the loaf
2. Water, 33%
3. Sourdough Starter, 7%: sorghum flour and water, fermented
4. Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil, 4%
5. Jaggery, 2%
6. Pink Salt, 1%

No maida. No DATEM. No calcium propionate. No emulsifiers. No preservatives. Just honest sorghum sourdough, every ingredient printed on the pack.

Why jowar?

Jowar (sorghum) is the only flour in our Daily Bread. It is baked for us as a sourdough loaf you can toast, use for sandwiches or eat as it is.

Flip over most bread sold in Delhi, even bread marketed as “multigrain” or “millet”, and maida is the first ingredient, with the millet far down the list. Breadwinner’s Daily Bread is 53% sorghum (jowar) flour, leavened with our own sourdough starter, with no maida and no refined wheat at all.
